A "gas station / grocery store / meat market / ice house / beer joint / attached residence / Sunday afternoon fantasy land for the grandkids" is the only way to describe this place for the past 60 years of its existence.

As the local place to gather and catch up with friends while picking up a few necessities or whetting your whistle with a soda or a brew, in its day this place was the essence of rural America.

The owner proudly wore his Texaco service station uniform as he cheerfully filled and inspected your vehicle for your trip ahead. Then either he or his wife would tend to your needs in the general store, wishing you a good day and safe travels as you left.

Evenings would see the gas sales slow, but the tables fill inside, as the locals gathered to recount the day's happenings and cool
